Where to Find Motivation?

We could define motivation in a way more practical than academic, as the force that pushes us towards a certain goal. More will be strong motivation, the greater the probability of making the center would be many things to say about motivation, but for now we focus on a basic distinction: extrinsic and intrinsic motivation.

Extrinsic motivation

In extrinsic motivation are all those purposes not directly related activity that is taking place, just to name a few: a graduate student who wants to find a job more rewarding, a person who chooses a specific work to be admired, a ' another that is jogging to lose weight, and so on ...

Intrinsic motivation

Intrinsic motivation rather is directly related to the activity that is taking place and the gratification comes from it, in this case the purpose is precisely to improve performance, eg a student who is studying because he finds pleasure in this type of activity a person who chooses a job because it gives her great personal satisfaction, another who is jogging because he loves it, etc ...

It has been demonstrated, but is also quite logical that motivation is not better than the other but that they are complementary. I will say more: if we are able to integrate intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for our purposes, it will be much more likely to center. If we tend to give us extrinsic motivation, maybe we could sit back to enjoy what we are doing and discover that we like (not the destination that counts, but the path). Similarly, if we lean towards intrinsic motivation, to discover that there could also be targets "secondary" certainly will give strength to our motivation.
