Grading in homeschooling

Classification in Home Schooling is done by the teacher-in-charge. In most cases this means mom! In this situation, The classification of a little tricky, because it is a little difficult to grade your own child. There is no benchmark that can assess the performance of your child. In most cases you have no sense of how well the other kids are doing. So, obviously the traditional method of classification is perhaps not the best way to follow.

The classification of a child undergoes Home Schooling is important to assess whether the child has understood the subject is taught. Inherent in this is that if the child does not understand something, go over it again. This works to the benefit of your child in 2 ways. First, the child knows that if he or she does not catch on, it will be repeated until the subject is controlled. Secondly, the child knows that once the issue is the knee, he or she receives praise for his hard work. The full reward for hard work is a major motivating factor, especially for children.

You can structure your teaching to the areas that are weak to cover, and build on the strong areas.

In case your state requires a home school report card, a record of the annual development and the scores of your child. Including relevant areas such as punctuality, discipline etc in the report. You may also need to keep records of working days and attendance schedules.

Although the layout of your child, make sure you have as many external tests as possible. There are several websites that deal with different age groups and allow free download of the question paper. This is an excellent and cost effective method to evaluate your child. Home Schooling, is done properly, the confidence of the child because he will be studying to satisfy his natural curiosity. The scores thus reflect his true intelligence.
